Entrepreneurial community strengthens the long-term potential of the site

The Papieri site in Biberist with a site surface area of 791'000 m² and an industrial surface area of approximately 322'000 m² is strategically located with respect to transport between Basel, Zurich and Bassin Lémanique. HIAG’s goal is to create a distinctly entrepreneurial innovation site at the location of the former paper factory. The paper machines, which were acquired with the purchase of the site, have been successfully sold. After dismantling the paper machines, the building surface area has been freed up for the development of the site in several phases. About 80% of the available surface area is currently rented as part of the interim use. Between 100 and 150 jobs have been created and a fitness centre ensures additional traffic to the site. In the final phase, the Papieri site will be incorporated into Biberist as a new quarter with a lively mix of retail space, offices, unobtrusive businesses, many options for leisure activities and apartments.
