Basel, 7 December 2020 - HIAG has significantly reduced the total cost of dismantling the Rohner site in Pratteln compared to original expectations through operational measures and the sale of a complete production unit including the building. The price for the plant sold is in the mid single-digit million range.
"The effective dismantling costs will be substantially lower than the amount of CHF 30 million provisioned at the end of 2019," says HIAG CEO Marco Feusi. "In addition, the sales proceeds will have a slightly positive impact on HIAG's results this year and next year".
The sold production unit of the former Rohner AG Pratteln will be purchased by an internationally operating chemical company, which will continue to operate it at a site in Europe. It is expected that dismantling and removal will be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
Work on the Rohner site is proceeding according to plan. HIAG expects that the dismantling will be completed in summer 2021. With its attractive central location near Pratteln railway station, the site offers excellent conditions for future development into a mixed-use, lively district of Pratteln.
