Real estate management at HIAG
back3 Questions for Jaqueline Hrdinka
Published: 22. March 2023
HIAG is active in the areas of site development, portfolio and asset management, and transactions. But who are the people behind HIAG? The new series "3 Questions for" introduces an HIAG employee every month.
This time it's Jaqueline Hrdinka's turn: she has been working at our location in Dietikon as a property manager for just over two years.
Describe your job at HIAG: What are you responsible for?
I am responsible for the management of our properties. My main tasks include taking care of our tenants' concerns and ensuring that the properties are in good condition. Letting properties is a high priority: I am responsible for creating advertisements, conducting viewings and drawing up the corresponding rental contracts at the end of the process. To maintain the value of the properties, regular maintenance and repairs have to be commissioned. I am responsible for coordinating and checking the work to ensure the expected quality. Furthermore, the foreseeable maintenance costs of a property are determined by means of budget plans. Planning budgets and monitoring rental income are also very important. In summary, I find my job as a property manager at HIAG very varied.
What do you particularly like about your work at HIAG?
For me, HIAG is a unique and innovative company. I have the opportunity to participate directly in decisions and actively contribute my own ideas and suggestions. HIAG's real estate portfolio is also very diverse, which brings great variety. The advantage of managing your own properties is that decision-making processes are short, which allows you to act more quickly and in a more targeted manner. You know the special features and characteristics of a property better and can therefore also build up a personal bond with the property.
What are the biggest challenges in your daily work?
As a property manager, I am at the centre of various stakeholders. This means that I am exposed to many different, sometimes even opposing, influences. The biggest challenge is to meet the different needs and expectations of the different stakeholders. You have to be able to deal with these challenges and find effective solutions. However, due to the good cooperation in our team, there is no concern that we cannot solve together.
