Describe your job at HIAG: What are you responsible for?
My responsibilities as Head of IT include ensuring the reliability, security and accessibility of our information systems in order to guarantee continuous business operations. I also work with our internal specialist departments to further develop and implement our digital strategy and am responsible for budgeting and controlling overall IT costs and optimising the entire IT area.

What do you particularly like about your work at HIAG?
I appreciate being part of HIAG and that I have been able to closely accompany the changes of recent years. A personal milestone was when we were able to complete the implementation of the internal digital strategy planned for 2025 as early as 2023. This included, for example, the complete switch from physical servers to the cloud, the introduction of Abacus as an ERP system and the switch to Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint as collaboration platforms.

What are the biggest challenges in your day-to-day work?
The biggest challenges in my day-to-day work are keeping my colleagues as far away as possible from everyday IT challenges, such as security or data protection issues. This allows them to concentrate fully on their actual work.
