Julius Grewe-Rellmann has been working as a site developer in the Zurich office since 2020.

Describe your job at HIAG: what are you responsible for?
In my role as a site developer, I am particularly responsible for the Wydeneck site in Dornach (SO). At 136,000 m², Wydeneck is one of the largest sites in the HIAG portfolio. A mixed-use district is to be built on the site of the former ‘Metalli’ in the future. We have developed a master plan in close cooperation with the municipality and the canton and are currently overseeing the rezoning. On my side, this includes, for example, coordinating the planners and experts, public relations and developing technical and utilisation concepts. In addition, we were able to attract around 50 interim users who are now revitalising the site and making it accessible to the public.

What do you like most about your work at HIAG?
We have extremely exciting and important tasks, because we are designing the living spaces of tomorrow. I really appreciate the exchange with colleagues in the various departments. Working with asset management, operations and realisation allows me to take a comprehensive approach and gives me much broader expertise than I could have on my own.

What are the biggest challenges in your day-to-day work?
Developing a site of this size requires close collaboration with numerous stakeholders, and the processes involved demand a lot of patience. You need a positive attitude and to always keep an eye on the big picture.
